Having lived in the Coromandel for five years, I feel a deep sense of responsibility towards the younger generation. Having migrated from the UK I have found my home here in Whitianga.

Since my early 20’s I have been striving to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable people.

As a new mother, my commitment to the youth mentor program is deeply personal. I understand the importance of providing a supportive environment where young

people can thrive and realise their full potential. Through mentorship,

we aim to create a community where every young person feels valued, supported and empowered to deal with life’s challenges.

In 2022 I had the opportunity to attend Heart for Youth Mentor Training in Auckland, where I found inspiration and guidance that has since inspired me to initiate a mentor program in The Coromandel peninsula.

Ross McCook, the program's founder. Ross's dedication to youth empowerment and his willingness to share his knowledge and expertise were truly inspiring. Under his mentorship, I gained valuable insights into the importance of mentorship in nurturing the potential of our young people.

With Ross's support and the generous sharing of intellectual property and training materials, we laid the groundwork for a program aimed at empowering our youth to navigate the challenges of life with resilience and confidence.

The journey of mentorship is not just about imparting knowledge; it's about building meaningful connections and personal growth. By connecting volunteer mentors from our community with young people in need of guidance and support, we are creating a network of positive role models who are invested in the success of our youth.

Together, we are laying the foundation for a brighter future for The Coromandel one where every young person has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Ross McCook and all those who have supported the Coromandel youth Mentor Program. Your belief in our mission and

your dedication to our youth are truly inspiring. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of our young people, and for that, I am immensely grateful.
